DANCE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

Consisting of our Creative Movement, Kinder Ballet , and Introductory Ballet classes, the Dance for Young Children program aims to nurture excitement for movement and music while developing attention span and classroom structure. For more information please email dance@olympicballet.com

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Ages 3-4. Minimum age requirement is 3 by September 1, 2025 for Fall Semester, or 3 by January 1, 2026 for Spring Semester*.

Classes utilize free and natural movement to music, including improvisations and imaginative exercises with props, as well as more structured instruction to develop rhythm, balance, and coordination.

*Students enrolled in Fall Semester will have priority for spring semester enrollment, space is not guaranteed for spring semester.


Dress Code

Light pink leotard and pink footless tights for girls with hair secured away from the face; and white T-shirt with black bike shorts for boys.

Wednesdays, 3:30 – 4:15 PM

Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:15 PM

INTRODUCTORY BALLET

Ages 6-7. Minimum age requirement is 6 by September 1, 2025 for Fall Semester, or 6 by January 1, 2026 for Spring Semester*.

Classes introduce barre exercises with continued emphasis on stretching and increasing flexibility, developing strength, rhythm, focus, and coordination.

*Students enrolled in Fall Semester will have priority for spring semester enrollment, space is not guaranteed for spring semester.


Dress Code

Violet leotard and pink or skin colored footed tights and ballet shoes  with hair secured away from the face;  white T-shirt with black bike shorts for boys.


2025–2026 Schedule

Thursdays, 5:00 – 6:00 PM

KINDER BALLET

Ages 5-6. Minimum age requirement is 5 by September 1, 2025 for Fall Semester, or 5 by January 1, 2026 for Spring Semester*.

*NEW!* ADD-ON TUMBLING CLASS

Open to students enrolled in Kinder Ballet and Introductory Ballet.

Class focuses on beginning acrobatic skills such as somersaults, cartwheels, handstands, taught on a padded floor.  Students gain strength, power, agility, and body control
