Contemporary Dance Workshop with Norbert De La Cruz III

Olympic Ballet School is proud to host dance artist and choreographer Norbert De La Cruz III for a 1-week contemporary dance workshop. He is a sought-after choreographer who has crafted works for dance schools and theaters nationwide, including choreographing Until the Mermaid Drags You Under, presented in Olympic Ballet Theatre’s 2022 production of Debuts.

Born in Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Norbert De La Cruz III is an award-winning collaborative artist and choreographer with roots in classical and contemporary dance. He has a BFA in Dance from the Julliard School and an MFA in Dance from Hollins University. Professionally, Norbert has performed as a soloist with Metropolitan Opera, Aszure Barton & Artists in Germany & Austria, Balletto Teatro di Torino in Italy, Joe Goode Performance Group, Sydney Skybetter & Associates, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, in addition to performing works by many contemporary choreographers.

Norbert has been commissioned to create works for dance theaters nationwide, including choreographing Until the Mermaid Drags You Under for Olympic Ballet Theatre’s 2022 production of Debuts. He also has instructed and created works for the Juilliard School, SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, Ailey School Fordham University, and many others. Norbert has received numerous awards and recognition and was featured in Dance Magazine’s 25 Top to Watch.
